ILLUSTRATION WORKSHOP

Today kids at Jules Verne School, had an interesting workshop with Ricardo Peláez. He told us that to be an illustrator is very important because his work makes that people want to watch and read books again.

The illustrator shared with us some of his work.

He told us that he likes to work wearing comfortable clothes and that he use to draw with pencil on paper.

Then, he color his work and after that a big machine called printing, reproduces the image several times.

That's why there exist lots of copies of books.

In JVS kids like to produce, so this time they created their own story.
First, they got different images. Do you recognize this kid?

Then, they numbered pictures to retell the story.

Next, they cut the images...

...and paste them on a cardboard...

Finally, when kids paste all images in the correct order...

...they add some color...

...and make a beautiful cover...

...and a back cover in some cases...

I'm sure that kids had a great time, but also they lived how is to be an illustrator.

Now tell me... Would you like to be an illustrator?
